HR Advisor / Business Partner (HRBP)

AccessHR is excited to partner with The Alex for the recruitment of two (2) full-time, permanent Human Resources Advisors / Business Partners. One HR Advisor will support the Housing client group and the other will support the Primary Care group. HR projects will be an integral part of both roles.

Position Description

 

The HR Advisors will report to the Manager, Human Resources, as part of a two-person HR Advisory Team. These positions provide a fantastic opportunity for the true generalist. You will spend a large portion of your time supporting specific client groups as a trusted partner to leaders and employees.

 

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to impactful and challenging projects as The Alex leverages their additional funding to expand their operations and community reach. Some upcoming projects include employee engagement, leadership development, succession planning, redesign of day one onboarding, personal development plan implementation, and an ADP Workforce Now LMS conversion project.

Key Deliverables

  • Leadership Coaching: Teach, guide, and empower leaders while enhancing their ability to foster effective, resilient teams that drive organizational success.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee relations challenges including conflict resolution and performance management; provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruitment processes from posting to hiring to onboarding; work with leaders to identify needs and recruit with a DEI-focused approach.
  • Total Rewards: Communicate compensation, benefits, and rewards components to client groups; prepare and introduce total value statements.
  • Projects: Actively participate in the creation and introduction of multiple projects including employment engagement, leadership development, succession planning, redesign of day one onboarding, personal development plan implementation, and an ADP Workforce Now LMS conversion project.

 

Qualifications

  • Well Rounded Generalist: Knowledge and experience in all aspects of human resources with an emphasis on recruitment, change management, employee relations, and projects.

  • Presentations: Creates and delivers short presentations to client groups on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

 

Education and Experience

  • One to three years’ Human Resources experience is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
  • Experience with or exposure to non-profit and/or social services organizations.
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Exposure to and/or understanding of Change Management principles.

 

Assets

  • Experience using and/or implementing ADP Workforce Now or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRISs).
  • CPHR designation or working towards designation.
  • Volunteerism and community engagement experience.
  • Project management education and/or experience.
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action.

  • 37.5-hour work week from Monday to Friday; centrally located close to Franklin LRT station.
